The Town Hall (Stadshuset in Swedish) is the flagship building of Stockholm, whose picture is present on any self-respecting tourist brochure! It was built between 1911 and 1923 by architect Ragnar Ostberg 8 million that would have used red brick. Ragnar Ostberg was inspired by Venetian palaces, including the Doge's Palace and City Hall articulated around two main piazzas: the Borgargarden (outdoor) and Bla Hallen (Blue Hall, inside). The tower reminds one of Stadshuset campanile. Construction costs rose to 18.5 million crowns. The inauguration took place June 23, 1923, exactly 400 years after the arrival of Gustav Vasa in Stockholm.
